Scholar, Postdoctoral Associate
Kinetoplastea Mitochondria, Mitochondrial proteome, Cryo-EM
Md Solayman earned his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh, and completed his Ph.D. in Biochemistry at Griffith University, Australia. His doctoral research focused on high-throughput sequencing-based probing of protein/RNA structures and functions, emphasizing the dynamic interplay between molecular structures and cellular processes. Currently, he is exploring the mitochondrial proteome of Leishmania tarentolae to better understand the intricate biology of this protozoan parasite’s mitochondria. His research also delves into the mechanisms of RNA editing and the structural elucidation of RNA editing complexes. Outside the lab, Solayman enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending quality time with his family and friends.
